INSTRUCTION BASED ART
Photography is one of the most mystical art works. It shows you more than is supposed to be shown and more than the human eye can see yet it hides so much history and mystery behind all props, all people and every setting. As skilful as an art piece could get, it doesn't mean that its made by the best idea
~INSTRUCTION BASED ART~
In the article in the “The Guardian”, people are asked to give their opinion on the art that is produced in the gallery. The first thing that caught my attention in the article was the first paragraph that explain some sort of formation of art that the artists there see. And as was said in the article, the DO IT project is successful at bringing in a lot of participation from the community as anyone is welcome. As this project includes the instruction of people to others who have to include their own thoughts, their own imagination, and their own interpretation of the given instruction. This article talks about how all people are welcome to show their own world, having said this, not everyone will have the same idea that they would come up with to create a piece of art work. Instructions are created by a human, think of it this way, if one human created, 1 can change it , its not like everyone has to follow a specific imaginations and expectation. This is like saying that there are perfect people on the modelling magazines, in fact none of those people should be an example to us as, the people that are called perfect are only some peoples views not the whole community, as for someone else, a perfect person could be the complete opposite to a model. This links back to the idea of everyone being welcome, when a certain instruction is given, the instructors want to see how different people build the same words in to different art. In class talking about who the artists are in a community of the gallery made me think. Who is the actual artist? Well many people would have many different answers towards this question, but if you think carefully about it, wouldn’t everyone be an artist on this planet. Art is not just a movement and a talent, it is something that builds us as who we are. Art existed for longer than humans but no one knows about it because no would could have an interpretation about it. That’s why in our expectations, the art is made by humans, because we have the ideas to create it, we have the knowledge and the imagination, but that’s not right because if we seen the things on earth with a naked eye, in real time, we would try to give our opinions on it, we would get inspirations and we would try to improve it . Again, an “instruction” is only an idea, if a person had the idea, a person also has the ability to change his idea. In the gallery as was said, there is a person that would give an instruction and artists would have to come and show the others idea but it would be unexpected as it is in the way they see it. Overall, the person who makes the art, is of course an artist because he/she is physically showing his/her idea on a canvas or etc, however, the person that gives the instruction is also the artist all along, they have created the idea, they had the imagination.

JOHN BALDASSARI
John Baldassari's work has a very one of a kind interpretation. John sees things like I have said in the previous paragraph about how people have certain expectations about all the things on Earth, he tries to reach out forward with the understanding that we always try to make everything perfect, we improve it and improve it yet we still don’t know whats the best, because we can always do it better each time we try to do anything. His interesting ideas did not include him in planning to get money for it, he genuinely got a lot of work together and burnt in to ashes after getting the inspiration when he was given a kind of shoe box with ashes, he decided to collect more shoe boxes for the sake of collecting all his artwork, and soon in late 19th century he got offered to be payed for his art work. He didn’t know exactly what he was doing at first. He didn’t know what to think of the word art, he was confused as to what it means by art, but when he started creating it, it changed his point of view on how the universe moves and how everything happens. He even made some cookies out of the ashes and 1 had eaten it to taste the art in some way. The ashes may not just be left overs but the compact pieces of art work he didn’t thing too high of.

Nearly most of us would have said that a piece of art, has to be a physical piece of art work, but that is complete utter nonsense. Art can be anything from a single thought or a natural everyday life process, anything from a massive sculpture in the centre of London or a massive painting by Pablo Picasso (who didn't even expect his work to be sold for millions and millions of pounds), to Grandmas dinner dish on a Friday afternoon or even maybe the scribbles that your 2 year old niece had created on the wall, while running away with her mothers make up brush covered in loads of broken eye shadow powder. Perhaps, art can even literally be a leaf that had just fallen across your sight from a tree into a nice spot in the veranda at your parents house while you were enjoying the calming rain, enjoying your ice-cream whilst covered up with a blanket under the roof of the veranda so you decided to take a picture of it, just so you can keep that moment visually secured in your memories. Art is anything. If you think of something as if its art, then its art. There is no right or wrong, there is only interpretations, imaginations, and opinion. In the theme of instruction based art, we have gathered that a person having an idea and giving the instruction for a person to create the physical outcome of the idea, is also art work. Going into more depth, as i said before art can be interpretations and opinion, because all of these include a twist of creativity, the idea person can think of a statue and when the other person gets the instruction to do that sculpture he can take it in a completely different way so the ideas person could have imagined a completely different outcome than what he received. This shows that both are artists and both have different creativity.
In instruction based art works, it is interesting to see how different artists process the instruction given by another artist. Because as mentioned before, the ideas coming from the artists who make the physical artwork based upon the instruction given, can take in parts of their given instruction in their own imaginative way. That, in my opinion is the fun part of instruction based art, as no one actually knows what the outcome will look like. Of course if everyone seen the instruction before the artist started producing the physical work, everyone would also have a different outcome planned in their head. Now that you think about it, the instruction person can easily say to create an oxygenated statue of Albert Einstein reading a book, what the other artist may have thought of, could literally be, a statue made out of oxygen somehow, but what the first artist could have been thinking of, is a clay statue or a statue made out of metal, which was oxygenated over time

The photography game
In our lessons of studying Instruction based art, we were asked to make a photography game to see what each of will come up with. There were outcomes such as jigsaw puzzles, snap, and card games. I think majority of people had went for some cards to not over complicate the whole process. The point of the making of the game was for us to deeply have a look and plan what kind of game we are trying to make individually and then have an individual photo shoot that will be included in the game. And finally play around with different materials that we have access to, and see what semi professional outcome we can get out of it.
Imaginarium Taro
As shown above, this is my outcome of the game and I think its actually not as bad as a I thought it may be. We had a deadline from before to give in the rough outcome, and my work then was atrocious as I had my black and white photos stuck on to a card and cut out in different sized cards. The rules also barely made any sense, and with the feedback of the class and my amazing teacher, oh, and lets not forget, AND, (and is in capitals because it is crucial), with the dedication and the actual motivation and wish to do well, I think that I managed to do a pretty good job overall considering I did not have professional materials by the hand.
The process of making them was not even as hard as I imagined, it just took some patience and commitment as anything would. Everything in my opinion has to be done with good intention and attitude towards the thought of the outcome.

RULES:
1. Pick out randomly, 3 cards out of the deck.
2. 1st is past, 2nd is present, 3rd is future.
3. Only view the image side of the cards.
4. Don't flip them over yet!
5. Don't ask anyone else for their opinion.
6. Look deeply into the picture.
7. What do you see? What is the life meaning of the image you see?
8. Flip it.
9. Check it.
10. Check, is your imagination wise enough? ;)
